Healthy Minds NS

About the program: HealthyMindsNS provides mental health support to students, strengthens their knowledge of mental health issues, and provide a wider array of resources, particularly for students experiencing mild to moderate symptoms. StFX University currently offers five of the HealthyMindsNS programs, in addition to the support offered through their Health and Counselling Centre located in Room 305 of the Bloomfield Centre (Students’ Union Building). Wellness Together Canada

About the program: Canadians are being challenged in a number of ways because of isolation, financial and employment uncertainty and disruptions to daily life. Wellness Together Canada provides tools and resources to help Canadians get back on track. These include modules for addressing low mood, worry, substance use, social isolation and relationship issues

Good2Talk Nova Scotia

About the program: It provides support for university and college students. Good2Talk is a free, confidential helpline for post-secondary students across Canada. By calling or texting Good2Talk, students can receive information and referrals about services and supports for mental health, addictions and well-being on and off campus or speak anonymously with a professional counsellor.

About the group: AY&M or Asana, Yoga & Massage is an Antigonish-based Yoga studio offering Yoga classes. As its Facebook page says, Yoga offers benefits for the mind, body and spirit.

Acupuncture Antigonish – Meditation classes

About the group: It offers meditation, deep breathing, and Qigong. The classes incorporate breathing and qigong exercise to calm the mind while strengthening the body. The meditations use guided visualization and mindfulness techniques.
