Who We Are

Hannah Macdonell

Hannah is from Ottawa, Ontario and is in her final year at StFX University pursuing two bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and the Climate and Environment program. As an avid podcast fan, she’s excited to be able to contribute to The Xaverian Files and engage with the StFX and Antigonish community. When not in class, Hannah is usually cooking up some mean curries, hanging with friends, or out for a run. This summer, she is working as a researcher at Carleton University developing a climate modelling software.

Grace Moffatt

Grace Moffatt is a fourth-year student at StFX University, pursuing a major in Biomedical Health Sciences and a minor in Social Determinants of Health. Grace is the president of Enactus StFX, a non-profit organization committed to reducing injustices in the local and global community through social entrepreneurship. Grace is eager to create a sense of community togetherness in the midst of this challenging time through the creation of the first-ever StFX Podcast, “The Xaverian Files.” In addition, she is the Director of Communications and Marketing for the Xavierian Leaders at large.

Lauren Sobot

Lauren Sobot is a fourth-year student at StFX University pursuing a Joint Honours degree in Biology and Psychology. She has been a campus tour guide since first year, so she’s no stranger to talking about all things StFX - which comes in handy for her work on The Xaverian Files podcast! In the summer of 2020, she can be found at Dalhousie University playing with DNA in a microbiology lab. In her free time, she’s an aspiring polyglot, a (very) amateur musician, and a black belt who’s not all that great at karate.
