Upper Big Tracadie Elder Mary Desmond speaks about the positive aspect and the challenging aspects of living in a small rural Black community. She also speaks about her involvement with local politics and how Black women have inspired her to be the woman she is today. Mrs Desmond also tells us about the tradition of quilting and how she is helping to preserve the art through the loyalist quilting project in her community.
