I graduated in 2019 with a B.A. in Business, majoring in international business with a minor in French. I have been lucky enough to have two placements through the McKenna fellowship. My first placement was with the Centre for Greening Government at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat. The mandate of the Centre for Greening Government is to reduce GHG emissions in federal government operations. I was able to develop web–ready material related to the Government of Canada’s commitment for its operations to be low-carbon and green.

Elizabeth graduated from StFX with an honours degree in Human Kinetics, which she followed up with a Master’s degree in Global Health.

Matthew Eliot graduated from StFX in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Aquatic Resources. He has a wide range of duties in his role as a Research/Analysis Officer in Environmental Policy at Transport Canada, largely in support of Canada’s preparation for meetings at the International Maritime Organization. He performs legislative scans, analyzes data, summarizes scientific research, and gives briefings and advice to higher management.

Allyson Amodeo graduated in May 2019 with a First-Class Honours Degree in history with a subsidiary in English.  She has been provided the amazing opportunity to continue to work at the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) during the summer of 2020, and will be attending the University of Waterloo beginning in September 2020 to pursue an MA in history.

Over the last ten months working as a part of the DCI, I have gained significant experience as a program officer assessing research project proposals d for the Digital Citizen Contribution Program as well as drafting Contribution Agreements for successful recipients and stakeholder engagement. In addition, I have also gained valuable experience assisting in developing recommendation packages for Ministerial approval and drafting official documents.
